Shinzo x Mizuno Contender ‘From Paris to Tokyo’

Over the last week or 2, I have seen a growing interest in this most recent Mizuno collaboration by Shinzo.

Taking a trip into what I believe to be Mizuno first attempt at making a tear away shoe. The Japanese and Parisian pair came together to produce a concept that they felt best showcased an invitation to travel. - From Paris to Tokyo.

The soft corduroy uppers are inspired by Paris. Take cues from its position as a fashion capital, it’s subways and architecture. These Contenders begin with a smart clean look. As you prep to take your theoretical trip to Tokyo. You are met with the chance to reform your shoe in almost anyway you want, taking away panel after panel to unveil the under layers of a Japanese Cherry Blossom.

Fire, scissors, scalpel - Whatever your creative juices feel they need to do let them do it! I have already seen some crazy designs. I when for a more simple look but since taking this picture have taken out the top piece of the tongue to unveil the pink and also amazing pink embroidered Mizuno ‘M’ logo. Which is safe to say, my favourite part of the shoe.
