Sanrio x ASICS Gel Lyte 3 ‘Hello Kitty Stars’

Releasing in 2009 these are a little collectors special. Dropping only in women’s sizes and exclusive to Sanrio retailers, the Hello Kitty GL3 is an incredibly rare pair and even more of a hot commodity in men’s sizing. - so much so that this pair is the only men’s pair I’ve ever seen.

The shoes release as a 2 pack with the red being dubbed the ‘Stars’ and black with patent uppers being the ‘Dollar’. This pair comes in a lovely mix of materials like ripstop side walls and vamps, patent leather overlays with the stripes and synthetic leathers around the toe box.

Sanrio over the years, has grown to be one of the most highly sort after and respected manga illustrators of all time. So much so, that only a small handful of people are allowed to draw the graphics. They even get trained by the masters themselves before they can start.

The last and of course best aspect of this shoe is the all over print Hello Kitty illustrations that give the shoe its icon status. 👑 🐱
