re.GENERATION | Community Workshop Series powered by Footpatrol
For those who have spoken to me on the topic of commnunity knows my stance. There is a missconception, I feel, that to build a community you need to be able to create access to product. For me, I wouldn't call that a community, but more of a client book in order to help put money through the till and reach your monthly/yearly targets. A purely transcational relationship.
Building a community, should be about creating a safe, inclusive space that allows people to come together, share their passion, knowledge and skills. Supporting one and another is what this workshop series is about. Bringing like minded individuals together over a similar passion, sharing knowledge and experience to the next wave of creatives in hopes that we can open new doors for them no matter who you are.
An unpopular opinion to some, but an important set of values I feel should be the standard across the industry.
If you are keen on taking part, head over to the Footpatrol Blog to find out more and apply! First session was on the 23.04, with none other than Mr.SNKRS - @willstowehos
What an amazing experience it was to host the first community workshop, creating insight into the real life decision making that occurs within the industry, focusing this month on Copywriting! An under valued and under appreciated role that arguably, is the most valuable asset to so many marketing campaigns.
This project was built to create insight and hopefully potential opportunity into an industry which has been seen as such a tough nut to crack. Hopefully we can change that and open doors for the next wave of enthusiasts.
We were lucky to have such an amazing group of applicants from all ages, engaged, learning and enjoying themselves. There’s not more that we could ask for really.
A huge congrats to the Generation.Works team for turning this into reality and letting myself and Footpatrol be a part of it.
More to come in the coming months! Next stop Image Making, with Mark Ward…… 👀👀
