A shoe that brought a host of colour to the UK and its terraces back in 1983 and was even then seen as a ‘holy grail’ of the terraced shoe era due to its bright colour palette, higher price point and lack of stockists at the time.
The Nike Pegasus is one of Nikes most prolific running shoe ranges and has been rehashed and designed countless times to modernise and adapt it for the wearers needs.
OGs of this model sell for a pretty fortune on aftermarket sites (if you can find one) and have never been rereleased until now.
During the 80s/90s we always hear loads of about the US and the influence it had on the UK at the time. One thing is for sure though is that although the US introduced to basketball shoes, cross trainers and other such spiciness. People say that the UK is an Airmax 95, but I must admit I think it’s up for debate. I don’t think there is a more British series of shoes than a terrace shoe, whether that be adidas city series or a Nike Pegasus. They are as British as British gets and bearing in mind how ingrained football culture is in bedded into so many, I find it hard not to think otherwise.
