Nike Airmax 1 'Lemonade' 2020 - My Thoughts and Feelings

Having recently been a part of the Nike SNKRS app 'What You Got' and 'Drop Off' series, I was given the chance to unbox what I think is the most coveted Airmax 1 release of 2020. I wanted to share my thoughts and feelings on this pack as I feel this pack as a whole has had such mixed bag of reviews from the general consumer market.

History wise, this shoe holds status as one of the most highly sort after Airmax 1 models to have ever released. Was that the case when they originally dropped though in 2006? Answer to that question.... No it wasn't. During the initial launch of the Powerwall series, all 56 shoes were launched in one go making it near impossible to secure every pair. Most collectors during that time were trying to get the 'Limited Editions' releases which were only sold at FootPatrol in the UK. This whole launch meant that the OG Lemonade sat for while in your local Nike outlets. To think that 14 years later it sells for upwards for 2.5K is nuts.

Moving forward to the present day, we now see the re-release of this Airmax 1. It's safe to say from my perspective I am happy with the release. I think the colour way is very close to the OG without completely mimicking it, with new additional details such as the lemon graphic on the tongue tab and also the lemon printed inner sole. Since the release of the 'Limeade' there has been a lot of people talking about the cracking that seems to appear on some pairs and uneven mudguards. I have had my pair for a few weeks now and can say even though they have had a bit of wear, they haven't looked as if they are cracking or have any issues at all on them.

The main point on this post is to really highlight the fact that when these first launched they sat and over the years became hugely popular, who is to say the same thing couldn't happen again with this retro?

Thanks to Nike for having me and being kind enough to give me a pair of this Lemonade release. I would have bought them regardless, but all it meant was a little more money could go towards Christmas this year!
